It was small,
with twenty five minute lulls
but I still had fun.

The Hair.
I remember walking into
Spencer's, way towards the back when, making my way towards the back of the store where all the posters were hung on racks underneath black lights and sparkly lava lamps. There it was. The Mexican blanket backdrop, the feathered hair, the red one piece.

The Glove.
I met MJ once. It was in the 80's during the height of his number one selling album Thriller. Some friends and I went to go see a movie, the theater was empty except a guy wearing a hat and two huge guys, one on either side of him. As I got closer I realized it was Michael Jackson. I introduced myself and asked if I could get an autograph, he replied, "sure I'll meet me in the lobby after the movie". The show ended and the lights went up, the only people left in the place were my friends and I. We entered the lobby and the Gloved One was waiting there, pen in hand, he called me over, shook my hand and asked if I had a piece of paper, so I grabbed a napkin from the snack bar and he signed it. I still have the autograph.
